Volunteer

We need tea makers, activity planners,
tidy-uppers and helpers for as little or as much
time as you can spare.

#volunteer

The fun doesn't stop at 18! - Scouting is also about adult volunteers; learning new skills, giving back to the community and having fun!

It doesn't have to be time-consuming; it might be something simple like offering to help wash the tea-towels, or help with some admin, or maybe you're a glutton for glitter, crazy about craft or a first-rate fire starter!

So why not get in touch to see how you can get involved or pop along to see what its all about!?

About Us

1st Hathersage Scout Group has been established for many years; in fact, we had our Centenary in 2019! For over 100 years the group has been providing scouting opportunities to children across the Hope Valley. Many things have changed over the years, but we still remain true to the principles of Scouting and work to provide almost endless possibilities to boys and girls; helping them develop, learn new skills and most importantly, have fun!

At Hathersage we are lucky enough to have a Beaver Colony, a Cub Pack and a Scout Troop, with an Explorer Group only a couple of miles away. This means we are able to provide scouting opportunities to boys and girls from 6 - 18 and beyond.

We also offer great opportunities for adults who may wish to get involved with scouting as Leaders, Assistant Leaders, Occasional Helpers or just offering their specialist skills occasionally, to help support the group.

Our Scout Hut is for Hire!

We are very proud of our Scout Hut and put a lot of effort into keeping it nice and well cared for. You can hire our hut out for the day or for weekend stays at one of the lowest prices you will find in the Valley; and when you do, all that money goes back into looking after our hut and running the Scout Group.

Lots of different groups hire our hut, such as Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Brownies, Students, Training Courses, Climbers, Walkers, etc.,
