Re-cycling

Clean Food and Drink Cans: This is a new initiative which has cost us nothing as we were very kindly donated a can crushing machine by Losehill Hall.  So please save all your clean and dry food and drinks cans and bring them along for crushing.  By crushing them we should be able to store a substantial amount before we weigh them in.  We are saving both aluminium and steel so bring along whatever you have.

Bags to Scouts:  We give you a bag, or any plastic bag will do, and you fill it with good quality second hand children's or adults clothing, sheets, blankets, bedding, curtains, soft toys, paired shoes, belts and handbags.  We are paid by weight for the items that we collect, which are all re-cycled.  Please note, we can only accept the items that we have listed above.  We do this twice a year and our next collection week is w/c 2nd May 2011 when items can be brought to the Scout Hut during sessions: Tuesday 6pm to 7.15pm, Wednesday 6pm to 7.15pm and Thursday 6pm to 9pm.  It may be possible for us to pick-up any large donations that cannot be delivered, please contact John on 01433 651889 for this. 

Mobile Phones and Ink Cartridges:  We now collect mobile phones and printer ink cartridges for recycling.  There is a large collection box in our hallway where you can deposit your items and also collect bags to put them in.  There are certain brands of ink cartridge that we cannot accept, the main one being Epson, so if you are unsure, please collect a bag and check out the details where there will also be a website address if you need more information
