Uniforms

All Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders are required to wear uniform at most Scouting events and sessions. Each section is identifiable by its unique uniform:

Beaver Scouts wear a turquoise sweatshirt with a Group scarf (called a necker) and a maroon woggle. There are option items, such as the polo shirt, the cap, socks, etc. that a Beaver can wear if they like, but the sweatshirt must be the approved one. There is a link below to where you can buy these.

Cubs wear a dark green sweatshirt with a Group necker and a woggle in the colour of their Six. Again, there are optional items of the uniform that some Cubs may wish to also wear.

Scouts wear a teal green shirt or blouse, navy blue activity trousers or skirt, a group scarf with a woggle, and a Scout belt.

For camps etc. there is also the iScout range of clothing, which offers a great selection of different hoodies, headwear, camp blankets, socks, t-shirts, coats, etc.

For badge locations see the “Essential Info” pages under each Section, which shows where all the badges should be positioned.

New Beavers, Cubs or Scouts do not need their uniform for the first couple of weeks of attending the Group. This allows them to try Scouting for a few sessions to see if it is for them, before investing in a uniform. All children should have their uniform by the time they are “invested” into the group, three to six weeks after joining. We provide the necker, woggle and badges when they are invested, so you just need their jumper/shirt/blouse and ensure they are wearing suitable shoes and trousers/shorts/skirt.

The full range of scouting uniform can be purchased from Sheffield Scout and Guide Shop:

http://www.scout-and-guide-shop.co.uk

(if you buy anything from the shop, you will be given a loyalty points receipt for your Group. Please hand that to the Section Leader.)

Uniform can also be purchased from John Lewis.

All badges are provided by the Group at no additional cost.

(We know how hungry dogs can get and that sometimes there is no way to stop them eating our neckers and woggles! In which case, replacements can be bought from your Section Leader at £4.00 for neckers, 50p for woggles and £1.50 for badges.)
